PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES 2008 3. Community Perspectives on Water and Sanitation towards ‘Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for Concern Universal Bangladesh (CUB). The objective of this study was to asses impacts of disaster on Water and Sanitation (WatSan) with perspective of DRR in six disaster prone areas of four districts of rural Bangladesh. Study areas were Maymensing, Kurigram, Potuakhali, Bhola. 4. Rapid Nutritional Assessment of Rat Infested Chittagong Hill Tracks Areas for Save the Children UK. The objective of this study was to assess the effects of bamboo flowring on health and nutrition of the people living in CHT. Study areas were Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachari. 5. Qualitative Assessment of Client Satisfaction on Sexual and Reproductive Health Services for Marie Stopes Clinic Society. The objective of this study was to measure the level of client satisfactions regarding sexual and reproductive health services in order to assess the total process for the betterment of women, men and adolescent which will be helpful to identify the backdrop of the process, strength of the process and learning to improve the further services. Study areas were Cox Bazar, Brahmanbaria, Khulna, Barisal, Bogra and Dhaka. 6. Post Disaster Food Security and Nutritional Status of Children Age Under Five for Plan Bangladesh. The general objective of the study was to assess the food security, psycho-social and nutritional status of the <5 years children in Borguna zila after the cyclone Sidr. The study area was Barguna.
PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES 2007 7. Follow-up Study of Iron & Folate Supplementation for Adolescent Girls to reduce Anemia program for The Micronutrient Initiative (MI). The objective of the study was to describe outcome and output of the project “Iron folate supplementation for adolescent girls to reduce anaemia” in northern districts of Bangladesh. Study areas were Rangpur and Dinajpur. 8. Baseline Survey of Competitive Literacy Initiative Project for Care Bangladesh. The objective of the study was to identify and assess the need of functional literacy and life skills for the women workers in the community of Mirpur area of Dhaka City. 9. Scoping Study of Water and Sanitation for Urban Poor (WSUP) study for CARE Bangladesh. The objective of the study was to assess the socio-economic status in order to identify the scopes for implementing water and sanitation services for urban poor in four slums in Mirpur.
10. Assessment of Response of Local government Institutions (LGIs)/Public Service Delivery Institutions (PSDIs) in Response to The Community Demand Creation for WaterAid Bangladesh. The overall objective of the study was to assess the extent of community voices so far been raised and institutionalized; know the demands for WatSan services that have been created by the CBOs; and to what extent those demands are met by the LGIs and PSDIs. Study areas were Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Kurigram, Rangamati.
